Castore Rouge

Castore Rouge opens with an absolute blast of juicy & rich mix of roses lifted by a tart touch of fruit. As that initial sweetness settles, the base comes out swinging with a deep, dark blend of what I suspect to be the castoreum and oud that gives it incredible depth and character.

I was actually sitting here talking to Mahir on WhatsApp for the past couple of days, contemplating what to add for a custom 15ml (I had already bought the 30ml). I added and deleted different customization from my cart at least six times 🤣… Should I ask for more rose? But the opening was already such a juicy rose, so would adding more drown out the oud? But then the oud comes out as it settles, and is so wonderfully blended... would adding more oud drown out the rose?

I couldn’t decide, so I asked my wife for her opinion on what she felt was missing if she could make adjustments. Her reply was simple: "Nothing. It’s perfect the way it is.”She was spot on. I realized there’s nothing I need to tweak or change. It’s already a perfectly balanced blend of notes and I am enjoying it like crazy.

Feeling the urge to spend, I ended up buying salah al-din instead… Don’t sleep on this one guys. I am not typically an attar guy but I could see myself wearing this one often! Dope work Maher Elkhaldi.

I was pleasantly surprised on this creation

I was pleasantly surprised on this creation. Out of all the releases for July 2026, this was the one I was most hesitant on. Seaweed? Onchya? Oh no…… but actually it work! This is a completely different take on an ambergris fragrance and it’s gorgeous. Sweet, some creamy feel and oh is it oudy. The composition is well structured and I am pleased and privileged to own this unique creation.

Green goddess

Civet prestige is wonderful. I am not one for green profiles. But this alludes to something more delightful in my taste. It’s creamy, slightly spiced and the green is not earthy but more lactonic green facets. This is absolutely gorgeous. Has a mature nuance to it as well which is lovely.

Nightfall Neroli

What a wonderful floral experience! Nobody does florals better than Elkhaldi. The jasmine is uplifting and the neroli keeps the airy aspects going. Followed through by a soft oud and leather Drydown with the florals lingering. Top notch creation and Elkhaldi never fails to amaze me with his creations.

Ananas Tabac

Not being able to purchase fragrances at a high rate will humble you, especially since there’s so much out there to explore, however, it will also make you more selective. It will compel you to delve a bit deeper into the fragrance that you’re considering purchasing.
on initial spray I was smacked with a very dusty, dry, and airy hay accord with a tobacco punch that embodies a mysticism. The complementary pairing of hay and tobacco begets mysticism due to its arrangement breathing underneath. What is birthing from underneath this mystical tobacco hay cloud is a citric and sweetness blend projecting ever so subtly from the pineapple, tonka, vanilla, and immortelle arrangement. It’s not the syrupy sweet immortelle variety-there’s a sweetness but leaning more refined soft and slightly woody. What I’m noticing as this fragrance continues to open and reveal itself, the leathery and smoky textures are an intertwining between castoreum and hay. This fragrance is very complex, regal, and refined. There’s leathery, smoky, and herbaceous aspects, and a dryness that accompanies a citric sweetness.
Chunky cut wood, dry feathery dusty hay, sweet creamy tonka. Ananas tabac appears to be many things and I’m excited to experience what else it has to offer. Very elevated and enigmatic.

Violette Iriani

I shared my first impression the other day and now it’s time for a full judgment. The opening is distinctly purple, quite piercing in a way with fruity blackcurrant, velvety violet, and lush florals. Once the florals settle, the velvety profile transitions into a subtle powderyness, nicely composed with oud in the background. It’s not overpowering, but just enough. The overall drydown nuance is woody, smoky, breezy, slightly aquatic, calming and inviting.

How does it compare to Purple Luban? I personally think for VI, the level of purple lushness is more elevated, with less smokiness and soapy florals than PL. The oud, of course, plays a more coherent role too and obviously I prefer VI than PL. I’m happy to have secured this before it sold out.

p/s: I’ve received some compliments
