Journal Notes:
I curated this attar during one of my few visits to Kuwait. This is a Ghalia through and through. You’ll catch just about every hallmark aromatic signature of this classic: resinous, powdery-herbal, powdery-animalic, woody, rosy, with a slight balsamic touch. You name it.
The creator gave me a roster of the materials used, which sheds light on his dedication and pursuit. This attar contains wild ouds from Hindi, Malay, and Thai sources, alongside vintage Burmese and vintage Koh Kong ouds from the 1990s. There’s also vintage Mysore sandalwood oil, Isfahani and Hindi rose ottos, Tibetan musk, and brown ambergris.
And finally, iris and red champaca—the two materials that give this Khaleeji classic its modern flair.
